Coconut Oil Biodiesel Production Line

In some countries,coconut oil is also used to produce the biodiesel.Biodiesel is a renewable and clean energy source and one of the strategic products of the bioenergy industry. The raw materials for biodiesel production in the world mainly include vegetable oils such as rapeseed oil, soybean oil, palm oil and sunflower oil, as well as civil and industrial waste oils.

Coconut Oil Biodiesel Production Line

Biodiesel production process mainly means the chemical reactions transesterification and esterification.According to the quality of different crude ois,the process usually inlcudes oil fat pretreatment,transesterification,FAME/glycerin separation,water washing,drying,fame distillation etc. (see following details.).

1. Demulsification sedimentation process

The raw materials are pumped from the raw material storage tank (owner-supplied) into the washing tank of the pretreatment section, and then demulsified (95°C-98°C) after heating. After standing, the sediment or washing waste water is pumped into the oil tank from the bottom; The oil is pumped into a dryer to a moisture content of less than 0.2%.

2. Filtration purification process

The oil treated by the dryer is heated to 130℃ by a heat exchanger, then mixed with a small amount of bleaching earth in the mixer and then pumped into the decolorizer after about 30 minutes, and then pumped to the filter to remove the used bleaching earth.

3. Deacidification process

The purified oil is exchanged with the neutral oil from which the free fatty acid has been removed from the deacidification process and heated up to 260 ℃ by the hot thermal oil, and then pumped into the deacidification tower for removing the free fatty acid to obtain a neutral oil (triglycerides)and Free fatty acid(FFA)two raw materials.

4. Esterification process

The separated FFA is pumped into the esterification reactor and heated to 120 ℃, then an acidic catalyst is added and methanol gas is introduced for esterifications reaction until the acid value of the oil in the kettle is under 2.After standing for 20 minutes, the spent catalyst is discharged. The crude methyl ester is pumped into the temporary storage tank for distillation.

5. Transesterification process(Alcoholysis)

The separated neutral oil is pumped from the temporary storage tank into the reactor, 99.5% methanol and alkali catalyst are added and the reaction is carried out at 60℃ for 1 h, and then the excess methanol is removed under vacuum state;the material is pumped into the separation tank after transesterification to get crude glycerol and crude fatty acid methyl ester.

6. Methyl ester distillation process

The crude methyl ester is extracted from the storage tank of the esterification or alcoholysis process for heat exchange with the hot methyl ester,then it is heated to the process temperature required with the heat transfer oil and then enters into the methyl ester distillation column and is distilled under high vacuum and high temperature conditions. For biodiesel products, the distillation residue is bio-asphalt. After the biodiesel product has passed the inspection, it is pumped into the finished product storage tank or the label control workshop.
